The Youth Peace and Development Forum (YPD Forum) is an independent, non-political, non-partisan, and voluntary youth organisation dedicated to advancing India’s development and promoting global peace through youth leadership, research, public policy, and community engagement. Founded by Dheeraj GN on 12 January 2026, National Youth Day, the Forum was established to create a platform through which young people can contribute meaningfully to nation-building through knowledge, innovation, research, and public service.
YPD Forum is founded on the belief that young people are not merely beneficiaries of development but active partners in shaping the future of society. By bringing together students, researchers, professionals, and emerging leaders from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, the Forum promotes intellectual inquiry, civic responsibility, innovation, and ethical leadership. It encourages constructive engagement with issues relating to governance, economic development, education, environmental sustainability, technology, peacebuilding, and international cooperation.
As part of its long-term research agenda, YPD Forum undertakes flagship initiatives including the Comprehensive Development Framework Reports for India’s 28 States and 8 Union Territories; the Strategic Transformation Framework Reports, examining reform priorities across all the 56 Ministries level Institution of the Government of India; the Bilateral Cooperation Framework Reports, examining India’s relationships with countries across the world through comprehensive sectoral cooperation strategies; and the Indian Enterprise Reports, examining India’s leading enterprises, industries, innovation ecosystems, and business institutions. Through these initiatives, the Forum seeks to contribute research-based recommendations supporting inclusive, sustainable, and future-oriented development.
The Forum serves as a platform for policy research, leadership development, capacity building, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Through research publications, policy briefs, development frameworks, conferences, workshops, internships, training programmes, and public dialogues, YPD Forum seeks to generate practical and evidence-based perspectives on contemporary public policy and development challenges. It also seeks to bridge the gap between academic research, policymaking, and grassroots action by encouraging meaningful youth participation in public affairs and national development.
Recognising India’s growing role in regional and global affairs, YPD Forum promotes dialogue and cooperation on peace, sustainable development, governance, economic transformation, and international partnerships. The Forum supports initiatives that encourage mutual understanding, cross-cultural exchange, and collaborative approaches to shared global challenges, while contributing to India’s long-term development aspirations and constructive engagement with the international community.
The work of YPD Forum is guided by the principles of independence, integrity, inclusiveness, professionalism, and respect for democratic values. As a non-political and non-partisan organisation, the Forum does not support or oppose any political party or electoral candidate. It remains committed to objective research, constructive policy engagement, informed public discourse, and initiatives that serve the broader public interest.
Through its network of young leaders, researchers, advisors, volunteers, and institutional partners, YPD Forum aspires to establish itself as a leading youth-led platform for policy innovation, leadership, sustainable development, and peacebuilding. By equipping young people with knowledge, skills, and opportunities for meaningful participation, the Forum seeks to translate youth potential into constructive action for India’s development and global peace, contributing to a more peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future.
