
Rishi Gurung is a Political Science Research Scholar at Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, University of Delhi, , a dedicated researcher specializing in international relations and foreign diplomacy, with a core focus on minority rights for equitable global and national systems, endeavoring to bridge the gap between grassroots activism and public policy.
His research projects focus on India’s strategic autonomy, the Global South, policy design instruments, and institutional governance, alongside specialized global identity politics. During his academic tenure, he served as the General Secretary of the Gandhi Study Circle (GSC) and has co-authored a chapter “Behaviour, Ethics, and Economy: A Gandhian Perspective,” featured in the recently launched book The Millennial Mahatma. He served as the Editorial Assistant for the Annual Magazine – चक्रViewह – India and the World Order wherein he led the Slubah Project, conducting research on the actual experiences of Sulabh workers. He has worked with Pink Legal ( a civic and social organisation), contributing in the development of women empowerment at certain levels. Beyond that he has worked with The Delhi Capitals, managing the premium hospitality stands for the IPL season 2024-2025
Earlier, he was a Member of the Comprehensive Development Council, contributing to research reports on the development of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. Also, he serves as the Fellow for YPD Forum and continues to advance his research in political systems and structural governance, contributing to student-led academic discourse, institutional reporting, and the analysis of behavioral decision-making models within public policy frameworks.
The Director ensures that research undertaken by the Forum maintains high standards of academic integrity, methodological rigour, evidence-based analysis, objectivity, and policy relevance. He also facilitates academic and institutional collaborations with universities, researchers, subject-matter experts, think tanks, policy institutions, and other relevant organizations. Through his progressive responsibilities within YPD Forum, Rishi Gurung contributes to strengthening the Forum’s research capacity, policy expertise, institutional knowledge base, and contribution to public policy discourse, supporting its development as a credible youth-led research and policy institution at the national and international levels.
